Cycling '74 Perspectives & Interviews

Return to: Learning Max (Basics)

The Cycling '74 (C74) Max page describes Max as a "A Playground for Invention" that allows you to "Explore Sound without Limits." You can "build classic synths from scratch," "Make Sound with a Gesture," and "Make Visual Music." Max is "an infinitely flexible space to create your own interactive software," that allows you to quickly "Prototype and Evaluate" your ideas. You can use Max to compose algorithmic music, build a generative installation, design a digital instrument, process live music and video in real time, improvise, run stage shows, and more. In a nutshell, Max can "Connect to Anything."

Listed below in reverse chronological order, you will find links to some older C74 Perspectives videos on YouTube, as well as some more recent C74 Interviews with Max artists, composers, designers, innovators, inventors, pedagogues, researchers, and software engineers.
